HSA, the health cash plans provider needed a cost effective and robust content managed website with a shallow learning curve.

Results

Since implementing the new site, visitors to HSA have increased by 70%, and conversions (to health plan purchases) have increased by an average of over 48%.

HSA is a member of the Simply Health Group - one of the UK's top 10 private health plan providers. The group offers a range of corporate health care policies to companies such as M&S, Nationwide and British Airways, as well as consumer products for individuals and families. These are sold directly, through intermediaries such as impartial consultants or 3rd party employee benefit package providers.

A big:interactive client of 6 years standing, HSA recently converted from its 85 year-old charitable status to a limited company and made a strategic decision to ramp up its online presence with a website re-vamp including the addition of online policy sales.

The new site design was based on HSA's new identity with the site launch timed to coincide with their re-branding.

The new site gave HSA the opportunity to trial a content management system for their websites. After evaluation of a number of systems, big:interactive and HSA selected MCMS as the most appropriate to their requirements and successfully launched the site. The installation of a new CMS was entirely managed by big:interactive.

In addition to hsa.co.uk, we also built several other sites within the HSA family, including HSA Ireland and Gibraltar, specific sites aimed at HSA's Corporate and Intermediary customers, and a sales specific extranet. These sites are not only sales vehicles, but also offer support materials, case studies and online and eNewsletters for this rapidly expanding business.

The site was built using a range of technologies. The CMS used Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS), with the most recent version of the application pages developed in .net and AJAX. Over the 4 years that the application has been live, online sales now account for over 65% of all sales. A remarkable achievement.
