A full service eCommerce site that engages users to explore products in-depth and interact with the site to achieve their own price on goods. Client must also be able to manage the site by themselves.

Results

A compelling website allowing users to quickly find the products they are looking for and purchase them by haggling with the animated site host, Ali. Our implemented solution also allows the client / merchant to take care of the content and products on the site without intervention required from us. Speedy Camel is now a top ranking site on Google Checkout too.

Speedycamel.co.uk is a purveyor of popular and quirky products sourced from a variety of suppliers. What makes them distinct from other eTailing sites is that they allow users to haggle for their price much like in the real world. This is done by interacting with the site's host character: Ali, who reacts to the amounts entered by the user.

Using our partner knowledge of the capabilities of the ePages platform, we worked with the client to integrate the Ali (Flash) character into the workings of the site to provide a seamless shopping experience for the user. This was further enhanced with a HTML version of Ali for user's who didn't have or want to use Flash.

While most of the site uses standard out-of-the-box ePages features, the 'Barter Engine' was a bespoke application specially developed to bring Ali to life and perform the haggling process.
